Change of managing director at EDC

Since the beginning of the year 2022, Dr. Detlef Billep has been a member of the management of EDC Electronic Design Chemnitz GmbH (EDC) as an additional managing director. He now leads the business of EDC together with Dr. Steffen Heinz. The previous managing director and co-founder André Lange is relinquishing the management position in order to be able to devote more time to research and development at EDC. "The large number of projects and inquiries from the fields of medical technology, automation technology and Industry 4.0 makes it necessary for me to fully concentrate on the development of these technologies." emphasizes André Lange.

Dr. Billep has been Head of Project Management and Sales at EDC since 2016. After studying electrical engineering at the Technical University of Chemnitz, he received his doctorate in the field of microsystems technology in 1999. He subsequently gained industrial experience both at Siemens AG in Limbach-Oberfrohna and then at SICK Engineering in Dresden. From 2007 he worked as group leader for MEMS design at Fraunhofer ENAS - Institute for Electronic Nano Systems.

Now he is taking on the next professional challenge. Together with Dr. Heinz, he will further advance EDC. "My goal is to make EDC fit for the future with the entire team and to significantly expand the manufacturing of customized products. Our joint focus is on expanding production to meet our customers' requirements in the future," says Dr. Billep.
